August, all ready gosh ,where dose the time go , we  have had a little rain and its been overcast for quit a wail now as you know , but that dose mean less lugging of heavy water cans around the gardening and at least there’s no hose pipe ban in mersham that the moment, so when we need to use are  hosepipe we can   ,luckily , but try and use cans when possible as it can still save water, water as low down as close to the roots as you can, and try to do it in the evening or the morning, that is better even then a warm over cast day ,give them enough to drink its best to soak them well, rather then giving a little and often, keep on top of the dead heading as many perennials will keep going for quite a long time, especially if dead headed regularly, if you can find time its a good to go to the garden centre or nurseries to see what plants they have as you may find that plant, you need for the space you may have to fill in your borders, its not all ways a good idea to buy plants in flower but if you don’t mind that you may get a slightly shorter flowering time in your gardening, then at this time of year , go for plants in flower so you can be sure to get the exact flower shape and colour you need,
