May , in mersham, by dug over

May already, are gardens are in full swinging loads of flowers everywhere, the air is full of lovely scents, the swallows are already here too , also the weather wow! hot and dry , we are lucky, but this does mean that there is a lot of watering to be done , as plants are drying out so quickly at the moment, you can start planting your pot and containers , keeping an eye on the weather , for frosts ,if you do not have a way to protect them if a frost is forecast then it may best to wait ,or if you are lucky another to have greenhouse then you could always get an early start by planting them up and keeping them protected in it till the end of May when it should be safe to put them out without worrying, but you’ll have decide for self as one frost could kill or set them back along way ,

Keep on top of the dead heading at this time of year, the more you remove on many plants the more flowers you stand to get,

Rose are starting to flower this mouth

Also try to get your runner beans in this month and Prune spring-flowering shrubs immediately after flowering, such as forsythia, ribes,
